A Legacy Built on Quality & Family Pride
Sudlersville Meat Locker has been owned and operated by Dwayne Nickerson, along with his wife and children, since 1996 — serving up quality, flavorful meats with pride ever since.
In 2011, Dawna joined her husband Dwayne full-time at the shop, allowing them to expand their services and capabilities. Their children, Lauren and Dylan, grew up working in the family business throughout high school and became full-time team members after graduation. Together, they've helped grow the business by expanding the retail storefront, completing advanced training in meat smoking, and continuing to improve operations.
As customer demand grew, the family began looking for ways to offer even more — but with no room to expand the original facility, they needed a new solution. In 2023, Dylan Nickerson opened D&J Custom Smoked Products, a USDA-certified, ready-to-eat meat processing plant. With over a decade of hands-on experience in meat processing and smoking, Dylan brought this new venture to life while working closely with Sudlersville Meat Locker to serve their loyal customer base.
D&J and Sudlersville now work hand-in-hand to deliver top-quality, locally grown meats — smoked to perfection. It's not just our business — it's our passion.
